Warranty
The following information is required to process warranty claims: owners name and address; serial number; model number; installation date; and name, address and phone number of installer. A Returned Goods Number must be issued by Newmac prior to acceptance of returned goods. Refer to your LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY for terms and conditions.
Blower Belt Tension
Correct belt tension allows 2'' of flexing midway between the pulleys. One inch deflection of the belt should be possible without the motor pulley moving. Too much tension will overload the motor too little will cause slippage. The motor pulley and blower pulley should be aligned so that the belt is running true. Premature belt wear will result from incorrect belt tension or pulley alignment.
Test Equipment
Test equipment must be used after installation, alteration or serving oil burning appliances. The service technician should have:
gauges capable of measuring up to 200 psig pressure and 30 in. Hg. vacuum.
Smoke tester
CO2 or O2 indicator.
Stack thermometer capable of measuring up to 575° F.
Duct thermometer capable of measuring up to 200° F.
Draft gauge capable of measuring plus or minus 0.05 inches water column.
Manometer capable of measuring 0.50 inches water column.
Multimeter.
Chimney Sizing
Must be capable of producing the required draft at all times, even in the mildest weather during which the appliance will operate. Must be sized according to the manufacturers instructions. Chimney size depends on firing rate, flue gas temperature at base, chimney height and chimney type. Chimney type refers to inside or outside, round or rectangular, masonry or prefab and insulated or non-insulated.
