SVS Flex Vent Assembly Instructions
Oil flex vent pipe connectors must be correctly installed. For your safety read and save all instructions, operating and service manuals.
SVS OIL FLEX VENT
• The oil flex vent connection consists of:

Terminal with connector and seal band clamp
Flex vent pipe up to 20 feet long (max)
Appliance and connector seal band clamp

• The flexible vent pipe must be continuous and in one piece.
• Connectors are installed at either end - terminal and appliance - and sealed to inside pipe with 600°F sealant.
• Care must be taken to ensure that the connectors seal to the inside stainless oil flex vent.
• O-ring seals permit inspection and cleaning as required by code
• Max flex vent length 20 feet. Support every 36".
• Minimum bend radius 1 foot.
• See SVS instructions for complete installation instructions.

 FLEX VENT ASSEMBLY
Assemble the terminal connector first. To establish length, put flex vent in place with non-combustible supports every 3 ft as recommended. Use wide bends greater than 1 ft radius. Cut to length when in final position. Once sealant has set connectors cannot be removed from flex vent.

SEAL JOINT
• Push outer casing back to reveal 1/2 to 3/4" of the oil flex.
• Remove screw and outer sleeve.
• Align flat seams of inner pipe and connector to check complete screw fit. COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. Turns easily with correct fit.
• Unscrew part way and apply a generous bead of 600°F Loctite Ultra Copper sealant Newmac Part no. 2080072 - see diagram.
• Slowly engage and screw the connector COUNTER-CLOCKWISE into the flex vent inner pipe. Ensure sealant bead is maintained.
• Continue to screw until the connector tightens into the pipe.
• Replace outer sleeve and tighten screw. Tighten outer casing with gear clamp. Do not deform the vent casing.

CUT TO LENGTH
• Select the cut-off point. Take care not to cut too short as the flex vent must not be joined. Do not puncture inner pipe.
• Cut with a hacksaw or tin snips. Use appropriate safety precautions. The thin metals are sharp.
• Push outer casing back 1/2 to 3/4" to expose the end of the inner pipe.
• Install connector as described above.

SVS FLEX COMPONENTS - SEE TABLE
• See table for vent pipe diameter.
•
Do not join - installation must be one complete length.
• Attach connectors to flex vent as described overleaf.
• O-ring seals. Allow for inspection and cleaning.
• Hi-temp 600°F RTV sealant for connector assembly, breech pipe connection and the burner flange. See SVS instructions.
• Twin ply flexible, non-combustible, aluminum air duct used for durability - see table for diameter.

O-RING SEAL
• Ensure O-ring contact surfaces are clean
• Loosen seal clamp and slide onto pipe
• Place O-ring on pipe end
• Slide flex connector into place on pipe
• Expand seal clamp over O-ring and both pipe beads
• Using 5/16" nut driver, carefully tighten clamp screw so that joint and seal are snug. Do not over-tighten.

BREECH PIPE CONNECTION
• Ensure breech pipe is clean.
• Apply 600°F silicone to breech pipe - see diagram.
• Loosen breech gear clamp and slide onto pipe.
• Check sealant bead maintains seal.
• Using 5/16" nut driver, tighten gear clamp to secure assembly. Do not over-tighten.
